Reflections photos with tips for the beginners

Do we need to avoid reflections in photography? Sometimes we need to avoid reflections (when you take a portrait of people wearing glasses for example). But in most cases your image with reflections will become more interesting, more artistic.
You can use mirrors, water, windows, shining car or any other suitable surface to receive reflections.

Morning is the best time to shoot reflections on a water surface because usually there’s no wind and the water is still.

You can shoot reflection in a windy weather too, then you can receive interesting image with small ripples on the water surface, the reflections will appear slightly blurred but that adds charm to the scene.

Focus on the reflection, doing that adds a bit mystery to your image.

Wait for cars or people when you shoot things behind a shop window to include everyday life in your photo.

Include location into your reflection image. Above you can see a photo that was taken in a small town Arles, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. Here “Café terrace at night” was painted by Van Gogh at 1888… The beautiful mannequin is looking at the windows of this café which is called now Café Van Gogh.
