The idea to convey “better half” in the photography.

I took the first photo in a small town named Arles, Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur, France. Here “Café terrace at night” was painted by Van Gogh in 1888… The beautiful mannequin was looking at the windows of this café which is now called Café Van Gogh.

I took the second photo in Prague, the capital of Czech Republic.

I found something common in these images.
She and he. Like human beings. Is she his “better half”?
There are lines in Frank Turner’s song: “There must be a better half, somewhere out there
She lives a better life, a life that shares
Shares with a better man”.
As in human being’s life – it’s impossible to meet each other…

So, let’s return to photography.
You can choose to include or to avoid reflections when you photograph a window shop (a storefront). It all depends upon your style of photography or your idea. To tell the truth, I like reflections. If you decide to use reflections you can use them to frame your subjects. If you want to avoid reflections you can use a polarizing filter or place your camera right against the window, or shoot at an angle of 45 degrees to the window.
What do you prefer – to include or to avoid reflections?

Thank you for reading!
