Winter truly is a beautiful season. You have an opportunity to take wonderful photos.
One of the most amazing things about winter is that a fresh snowfall or a frosty evening can change the landscape completely and the same location can provide endless photographic opportunities.
Freshly fallen snow has an ethereal beauty, so you might want to capture this the most magical moment.
The following three things are equally important to enjoy the winter photography:
*clothing;
The most important thing about your clothing is to dress warmly.
*camera equipment;
Be careful when photographing in snowy conditions; try to keep your camera as dry as possible. You might want to protect your camera with a zip-lock bag. You can also drape a microfiber towel over your camera and lens to keep the snow off the gear. Battery drain is the biggest problem in cold temperatures. Keep spare batteries with you. If you have one battery, keep it in an inner pocket to keep it warm until you need it.
When you take cold gear out in a warm car or room, the process of condensation can begin. Leave your camera zipped up in your camera bag for several hours after you bring it inside until the whole bag and its contents warms up to room temperature.

Photographing snow is one of those cases where your camera needs help. You need to “overexpose” photos in order to get a good exposure and to capture the pure white snow.
But snow reflects color. If you’re shooting at sunset, the snow could get various colors from orange and pink to purple and blue. I don’t think it’s bad to capture scenes with vibrant colors. By the way the blue tint conveys the cold of a winter day.
Winter is a great time to get out and try something new.
