Photo Essay: Passages.

“Country roads, take me home
To the place I belong…”
(from The Essential by John Denver)

A passage is a way of exit or entrance:  a road, path, channel, or course by which something passes

All our lives we are moving from one place to another.
 From one country to another.
From one city/town to another.
From home to the office and so on.

We have to go along the roads and paths.
And they have no special meaning for us. We are thinking about the point of our destination.

Being a passenger in the car, I like country roads and I like to look around while we are riding.

Sometimes we have time to stop at the beautiful places.
And I could enjoy a field of sunflowers during the late summer

or the blue shadows of the birches during the cold winter.

I took these photos of different roads and paths at different seasons.

Life itself is nothing but a passage, from a certain perspective.

“The secret of life is enjoying the passage of time”.
                                              James Taylor

People call life an eternal journey. Maybe it can be called an eternal journey for mankind in general.
Then a road without beginning and without end could be a metaphor for this journey.

However this journey is not eternal for each particular person. For all of us our personal journey has an end.

“Life is a journey, not a destination”. Ralph Waldo Emerson

So let’s enjoy every day and every passage of our journey.
